Self-abandonment is the underlying cause of much pain and shame, while shame – which is perpetuated by self-abandonment – also fuels self-abandonment. So much will change in your life when you learn how to love yourself, and you break this painful cycle.
I remember once being humble in my youth. I abandoned it for a more powerful being within. Now I long for those simpler times of freedom.
