Loneliness and heartbreak are two of the hardest feelings to feel. When we were growing up, we had to learn to protect against these, as we could not manage them. Addictions are often ways of avoiding these feelings, so it is vitally important now to learn how to manage them in loving ways.

Today, practice attending to these core painful feelings with deep compassion for yourself, rather than avoid these feelings with controlling behavior.
