Loneliness and heartbreak are two of the hardest feelings to feel. When we were growing up, we had to learn to protect against these, as we could not manage them. Addictions are often ways of avoiding these feelings, so it is vitally important now to learn how to manage them in loving ways.
Daily InspirationOur addictions - to busyness, substances, activities - cover up our feelings of loneliness, heartbreak and helplessness over others. Yet, when we are willing to feel these feelings with compassion toward ourselves, they move through us and we are lighter.
