Are You Manifesting Your Dreams?
By Dr. Margaret PaulMarch 29, 2021
Do you follow your bliss, or have you given up on your dreams?
Do you have dreams that you have not yet manifested? Are there things you are passionate about that you are not doing? Why not? What's stopping you?
Dr. Erika Chopich is a powerful role model regarding manifesting dreams and passions. Frankly, I don't know how she got that way. It was certainly not from her family of origin, who tried to thwart her gifts and talents whenever they could. Erika had a very tough childhood, yet she does not give up in terms of manifesting her dreams. I look at her in awe and deep admiration as she plows ahead, bringing about her visions for her life. Once Erika gets an idea of what she wants, nothing seems to stop her!
Put Your Heart and Soul Into What You Want!
I've learned over the years that when I put my whole heart and soul into what I want, I eventually get it. It may take awhile (It took 17 years to get SelfQuest to where it currently is!), but that's okay, because it's really the journey rather than the outcome that fills and satisfies me.
One of my long-time dreams was to live on a ranch with horses. My love of horses started when I was about three years old. My favorite thing in life was to ride the ponies in Beverly Park in Los Angeles. I would always beg for just one more ride! When I was eight, we moved near Griffith Park in L.A., and there were riding stables just down the hill from our house. Risking poison oak, I'd run down the hill after school a couple of times a week for my riding lessons. I became a good rider and I loved to ride the many trails in Griffith Park. Most of my drawings were of horses. So ever since I can remember, I've wanted to live on a ranch with my own horse.
Some Dreams Take A Long Time To Manifest
As I write this, tears well up. It took over 70 years to manifest this dream, and I never would have been able to do it without Erika – just as she would not have been able to manifest her dream with the horses without me. Amazing how God arranged it!
When I used to ride, I always felt grateful that I learned to ride when I was young. I doubt that I would have taken up riding at my age, but my body remembered, especially when we cantered across the field. In our house in Durango, there was no place to canter across a field, because there were too many gopher holes and rocks. But in our current ranch, there are no rocks or gophers and we could joyfully race across the field, each of us with a grin on our face. When I fed our horses and they kissed me and licked my jacket, I could hardly believe my good fortune! The horses brought so much joy and vitality to our lives. I'm grateful that I got to live my long-time dream!
